Established in 2006, we are a small brewery located in the town of Lucan, MN,population 220. We have the largest hopyard in the state, using all of what we grow for our fresh hop beers. Moo Joos is a tastier, more unique upgrade from our old Cream Stout. Using way too many oats and way too much lactose, we strive to make a beer whose rich flavor belies its modest strength.

Creative style variation. Slightly turbid black beer with a helluva head. Nose of lactose, like a vanilla toffee, marries with a collage of flavors—cocoa, coffee, cream, malt, and spice. Easy to drink by itself or with buttered bread. We served it to friends with a freshly caught Dungeness crab salad on arugula, golden beets and sliced heirloom tomatoes, smothered with a Louis dressing. For a dessert experience, pour it over toffee ice cream to make a Moo Joos float.

Nubile cocoa and roast malt aroma champion the compelling and depthy dark brew. Solemn berry-like fruitiness creates an edge on an otherwise well-rounded fusion of malt and hops. No drama here—this is a true micro-moment of bliss that doesn’t vanish. Nutritious? I certainly believe so. Clean and dignified aftertaste—Brau Bro’s keep on brewing and I’ll weep with joy.
