For the life of me, I don’t know what to make of this beer. Described on the label as a Belgian wit, it has the right pale, sandy color, but the aroma and taste are far too aggressive for this gentle, breakfast-friendly style. The nose is strongly citrusy with floral and curious vanilla undertones, while the body shows tart lemon, sharp, peppery spice and a rising bitterness. Given this brew’s motocross motif, perhaps it’s at its best washing the dust of the day’s big race from your throat.

Grand and sumptuous head piles high in the glass. Extraordinarily pale wit(h) yeast and wheat haze. Expressive spice and citrus aroma follows through in flavor along with zesty acidic “tang.” Yeasty aftertaste and mouthfeel is indicative of this style of wheat beer. Very good drinkability, with complexity of flavors that would compliment a slice of apple pie on a 100 degree summer day.

When he’s not running around in search of new taste experiences, he makes his home in Toronto, where a new cultural experience is only as far away as the next neighborhood.
