Right out of the bottle, this beer impresses. It pours a beautiful Titian golden-red with a light tan head that sticks around for a good portion of the whole glass. Caramel is predominant, but lightly toasted fruit bread and even some dry-roasted cocktail nuts sneak into the aromas. Enticing flavors of caramel, hazelnut and a slight earthiness come forth with a light effervescence that keeps the flavors quite nimble on the palate. Pleasant spiciness and a gentle dry finish that perfectly completes the experience.

This is an impressive amber beer. Everything about it seems spot on. The aroma is firmly malty, yet not heavy, with layers of caramel, bread, nut and delicately toasted grains contrasted by a little sharp tropical fruit and some floral notes. Juicy malt continues in the taste, with more subtle caramel and nut topped with berries, faint tropical fruits and flowers. Generally sweet, it has every reason to descend into cloying disappointment but instead it’s rather crisp. Toasted grains and tangy hops harmonize together in the dry, rapidly bitter finish. Rather fruity for an alt but highly quaffable.
