Skilak Scottish pours with a light beige head on a dark amber beer. Aroma is of smooth malt along with a smoky background leading to a mouthful of deep, roasted malt flavor. Ends long and smooth with a sweet malt aftertaste. Kenai River Brewing Company is a microbrewery specializing in handcrafted ales.

Cloudy pale brown color. Contrasting head disappears very quickly. Aroma of roasted malt is front and center, followed by a clean herbal finish. Round, full flavor on the palate finishes with slight hop acidity that lingers in the aftertaste. Good with roasted game hen with a chanterelle sauce, wild rice, multi-grain organic bread, and, to finish, pumpkin pie with a dollop of cream whipped with the beer.

Chestnut brown glow confidently announces big malt and subtle roast character atop a Scottish fruitiness. Smooth, yet playful bite becoming eloquently expansive. High drinkability and engaging continuity. A beer inspiring loyalty. A merciful 5.3 percent ABV is makes friends easily. Quite a punch of flavor for a highly complex and long haul drinkability.  Priceless.
