Prying the pull tab on this can is no picnic. We served it however, on a picnic with grilled hot dogs, toasty buns, and yellow mustard with sauerkraut and chopped sweet pickle on top. Bright gold, the head is light with moderate retention. The nose is fresh. On the palate, this is an exceedingly light beer, clean but lacking complexity and balance. There is a distinctive long lasting aftertaste.
A solid, basic pale ale. It’s smooth, has a quality head and is very pale. Refreshingly hoppy, but not assertive. Wonderfully accessible and certainly an everyday, go-to, reach-for sessionably satisfying pale ale. Makes me get philoshopic. Hop quality is uniquely herbal without citrus or excessive fruitiness. A really nice alternative to other fruity, citrusy pale ales. When in Maine, I’d make mine a Baxter.
