Beer of the Week

Lazy Magnolia Reb Ale

Posted June 20, 2011 by Greg Barbera

Lazy Magnolia‘s Reb Ale pours amber with little head retention and some mild lacing. River water and sweet, malt notes grace the nose. A peppery hop mouthfeel. The finish is crisp and dry. The style’s recipe was created to accommodate one location – Oxford, MS. The brew is dry hopped and classified as a pale ale yet defies traditional pale ale characteristics with its earthiness and slight carbonation. At 5.2 percent ABV, this beer is a nice accompaniment for sticky, humid Southern summer evening.

Received this beer as a gift from a beer of the month club. Great beer. What a surprise. I was expecting something with very little taste and nothing could be more far from the truth. This is a beer full of flavor and very smooth. Wish I could get it in CT.
    Cheers!
