Beer of the Week

Terrapin Beer Co.’s The Iron Tankard Old Stock Ale

Posted April 29, 2010 by Ola Nilbrink

Terrapin Beer Co. has launched a series of beers called Georgia Theater Sessions. Only available in Georgia, these beers were made to help raise money to rebuild the historic theater which was destroyed by a fire. Each brew highlights some of the theater’s long, grand history. First up in this limited-release series is The Iron Tankard Old Stock Ale. This 8.3 percent ale is initially slightly sweet with a bitterness in the body and some raisins in the finish. Named after the huge iron pool in the basement, this beer is as pleasant and relaxing as a dip in the pool can be and has a complexity to it that reflects the rich history of the theater. Also, one of each beer, and only one, will contain a Golden Ticket which will grant someone lifetime access to the theater.
