Handsome copper color, traditional for pale ale since the industrial revolution. Creamy tan head. Malty flavor is slightly spicy with just the right amount of bitterness. No style is more versatile with food than pale, and this is a beautifully made example. We relished it with wild boar sausage, sauerkraut and vollkorn buns. The biscuity and malty character is liquid bread with the rich sausage of wild boar and pork. Nice, too, with a bittersweet chocolate dessert.

Gentle amber with rich layer of foam. Full in-depth hop aromas escape freely from the glass; pleasant with knotty pine notes. Medium bodied, balanced on the hoppy-bitter side; refreshing pale ale. Enjoyable at any altitude, with any attitude. Clean aftertaste, with both a malty and hop memory. If this one is within arm’s distance—reach for it—you’ll have a winner. Yum. P.S. I’d a named it Naughty Pine Pale.
