The nose of IPA Nectar illustrates just how fragrant hops can be, the equal of the finest heirloom rose, dianthus or peony. The color, too, is floral, like bronze sunlight on a dusky garden with a view of the mountains covered with summer snow. On the palate, it is a study in balance—flavorful, yet subtle and not overly assertive. Recommended with fried zucchini flowers, served with a tangy pesto sauce, tandoori prawns and other flavorful foods.

Amber clarity with a spectacular American IPA hop character. Citrus to the pleasant max, yet extraordinarily drinkable. There are gobs of hops in this ale, but they don’t assault the palate as aggressive. Balance with malt and underlying caramel character with medium body. A true IPA nectar as the name implies. I’d love to brew this as my own! I guess that means I’d pay money for this, too!

My usual beef—too dark for a genuine IPA. This is a blood-red beer with a frothy crown of foam and a pungent aroma of tart hop resins, orange fruit and biscuity malt. The palate is intensely bitter and fruity and leads to a long, bitter, hoppy and fruity finish. A fabulous beer, bursting with hop character. Just ease back on the dark malts, guys!
