Fortnight ESB

A recent newcomer to the Triangle area, Fortnight’s mission is to produce traditional English style ales. So it’s fitting that one of the first beers it canned is an ESB. Pouring a maple syrup-like color with a quickly disappearing head, you are greeted pleasantly with a smell of caramel maltiness. This is a moderately sweet beer resembling burnt caramel and butterscotch but with a traditional chalky mouthfeel. Hints of wet moss hide behind the sweetness. A great representation of the style.
