3 Daughters Rod Bender

December 1, 2016

3 Daughters Brewing

Rod Bender
St. Petersburg, Florida
Style: American Amber Ale ABV: 5.9%

An amber ale with a balance of caramel sweetness and firm hopping.

No, not that rod! The name refers to the big fish that didn’t get away, mouth open on the can. Red is right, with an off-tan head. Harvest nose is fresh and balanced. Silky mouthfeel gets you hooked. Clean aftertaste. We caught fresh local tuna at the farmer’s market this morning. Served with fresh spinach, beer-battered zucchini flowers, oat bread and topped off with apples and grapes from our garden. We were ready for another rod bender!

Beautifully crystal clear and amber-red with ample head. Exquisite toasted malt aroma invites. Light cocoa flavor notes blend with toasted grain character balancing refreshing dryness with cocoa mouthfeel. Gentle and well-balanced hop bitterness. Very refreshing finish with high drinkability. Easygoing complexity lends itself to all kinds of food combinations. Don’t let the amber red fool you. This is a great beer for the local climate in Florida all year around. I’m thirsty; let me at it.
