A distinctive Northwest Red Ale with a solid crew of grains, including Two-row Barley, Vienna Malt, Rolled Oats, Crystal and Chocolate Malt while Columbus and Amarillo hops are utilized to deliver significant flavor and aroma without being overly assertive.

    Scuttlebutt originally was a cask of fresh water on a ship but I’ll settle for this version that contains grain, hops and vitamin B as well as pure brewing liquor. It has a burnished copper color and a bewitching aroma of smoke, oak, leafy and woody hops and toasted grain. Tart blood orange fruit builds in the mouth with continuing notes of pine-like hop resins and rich dark malt. The finish is deep and complex, multi-layered with increasing hop bitterness, tart fruit, and smoky grain. The end is shatteringly dry and bitter. A stunning beer.

    Rustic looking red, slightly hazed with a densely rocky head. Smells of clementines, mint, tea, toasted bread and faint evergreen. Semi-creamy smoothness with a medium bodied, toasty from start to finish. Pretty aggressive hoppiness but still a balanced brew. Citrus pith, melon, spice, grassy and a bit floral round out some more of the complexities on the palate. Tell Tale Red nails that old school PNW character, with a lot going on for something so sessionable.
