Distinct, turbid, deep honey color bordering on amber, with lasting ecru head. Pleasant bouquet of floral and spicy tones. Clean palate has bitter character up front but could use a bit more malt for backbone and balance. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Sure enough good with Texas chili topped with sour cream and shredded aged cheddar, you all. Texas is a challenging place to brew as the laws are among the nation’s most contrary. Breweries like Southern Star deserve your support.

An amber brew not bashful about expressing hops. Wistfully woody with big citrus hop character quenching my thirst. Jammy with hop flavor, aroma and balanced bitterness, lingering to conspire, “Drink me more…me says.” Well balanced all around expressive pale ale. Perfect thirst quencher for those long Texas plains and occasional hills. Pine Belt will be a star rising in Texas and beyond.
