Handsome cork finished package features humorous and creative illustration revealing a generous 11.1 percent alcohol. Deepest ruby color with a good, tight, long lasting head. Delicious and clean, malty character balanced with plenty of oaken spice. A barley wine in the truest sense; here is a beer of complexity that accompanies food better than many wines do. We preferred it much more than the Pinot Noir that we had the night before, with a leftover cassoulet of duck comfit.

A beer designed to work up a thirst. Cork takes some effort to remove, but worth every strained muscle. Graciously deep red tint, foamy surface emits fruity, earthy and hoppy symphony. Flavor is smooooth and eloquent. Hop bitterness toned down with maturity. Hints of vanilla. A looking-straight-into-eyeballs-sipping-beer. Contemplative, roasty and vibrant on the palate. Serve this one with classic aged cheese for an umami experience supreme. So little time so much beer. Where are my friends when I need them?
