With an abundance of water, Upper Michigan is mostly blue, but brown is still beautiful, especially topped with a handsome head of tiny tan bubbles that hang on and on, leaving a legacy on the glass. Nice nose hints of home made caramel with just enough hops to balance the malt sweetness. Easier on the tongue and palate than expected; though dark in color, it is light and refreshing in flavor. Terrific with trout meunière and other mild seafood.

Significantly brown with reddish glow. Nice head with a sweet, milky aroma. Neither hops nor malt emerge from my fridge-cooled brew. Medium body, lean flavor of roast malt and caramel gracefully emerge. Crisp hop bitterness balance aftertaste suggesting this to be a great “session beer,” but who’s to know? There’s no alcohol content indicated on can. Going by taste alone, Lift Bridge is gifted with great drinkability, especially as it warms to more reasonable temperatures above 45 degrees.
