Split Personality Ale (or was it Lager?)

5 Gallons (19 liters)

OG: 1052/12.5°P

Alcohol: 4.5 to 5.0% ABV

Bitterness: 26 IBUs

Color: Shimmering gold

Yeast: So many choices

All grain recipe (calculated at 75% efficiency):

5.5 lb/2.5 kg Pilsener malt

2 lb/900 g Munich malt

2 lb/900 g Malted wheat

Extract + steeped grain recipe

3.5 lb/1.6 kg Pale dry unhopped amber extract (or 3.5 lbs syrup)

2 lb/900 g Dry unhopped wheat extract (or 3.5 lbs syrup)

0.5 lb/227 g Pale crystal malt

Hops (calculated for pellets; use 20% more for whole hops)

1.0 oz/28 gm  60 min  Styrian, Glacier or US Fuggle

1.0 oz/28 gm  5 min  Saaz, Ultra or Glacier

Mash should be simple infusion mash at 150°F/67°C for an hour; then raise to 170°F/77°C for mash out, then begin sparge. Ferment according to yeast instructions.
