(Longmont, CO) – Ten years ago funky little Oskar Blues Grill & Brew started the “Canned Beer Apocalypse” by stuffing their voluminously hoppy Dale’s Pale Ale in a can.  Today Oskar Blues announced a partnership with Stagnaro Distributing (Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky) & Superior Beverage Group (Columbus to Cleveland) to expand their line of boundary busting canned beer to the burgeoning craft beer scene of Ohio and Northern Kentucky.

Pelican Brewing to Expand

(Pacific City, OR) – The owners of Pelican Brewing Co., Mary Jones, Jeff Schons, Darron Welch and Ken Henson have entered into an agreement with Star Distributors, Inc. of Tillamook to lease the Star Distributor building on Stillwell between Front & First Ave. While it is not the same vision as the group had in mind for the Port of Tillamook Bay site, a location they considered last year, it’s the perfect size and shape for what they need to brew large quantities of world-class beer. No restaurant is planned for this site, but a tasting room may become part of the plan in the future.

Bathtub Beer Fest to Raise Funds for Philly Beer Week

PHILADELPHIA, PA – On Thursday, November 15 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m., top craft brewers will come together at the National Constitution Center (5th and Arch Streets) for Bathtub Beer Fest, a Prohibition-era beer-drinking party and fundraiser for Philly Beer Week (PBW) 2013.  Tickets are available online (click to purchase) for $40 per person ($45 per person after October 12), and include samples of both old-fashioned beers and modern favorites from 20 top craft breweries, plus free admission to the Center’s new exhibit, “American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition” (normally $17).

Summit to Open Tap Room at St. Paul Brewery

Summit Brewing Company will start Tap Room hours at its brewery “Ratskeller” on Fridays from 3-8 p.m., beginning Sept. 28. The Tap Room opening will feature a half-barrel of Export Stout from the pilot brewery and music from Hotpants DJs. Barrio will be selling tacos on Summit’s patio.
