Posted March 8, 2012 by Win Bassett

Durham, NC—All About Beer Magazine and Artsplosure are pleased to name Noelle Rousseau, a Raleigh-based artist, as the winner of the second annual World Beer Festival-Raleigh poster contest. To showcase The Art of Beer at World Beer Festival-Raleigh, the contest sought creative art submissions that reflect the art and culture of beer for use in the promotion of the festival, which will be held on April 14, 2012, in Moore Square from noon to 4:00 p.m and from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at https://allaboutbeer.net/wbf.  Rousseau’s winning entry will be featured on the official poster, t-shirts and other marketing materials for World Beer Festival-Raleigh.

The winning poster design will be unveiled at a celebration and press conference at The Flying Saucer Draught Emporium in downtown Raleigh on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at noon. Please call Flying Saucer at 919-821-7401 for reservations.

“The poster designs that we received were all excellent representations of the culture of beer. We felt that Rousseau’s artistic depiction truly captured the essential experience of a life enriched by beer,” said Daniel Bradford, Publisher and Editor of All About Beer Magazine.

To further develop this essential experience and The Art of Beer, World Beer Festival-Raleigh will feature an educational village where attendees can participate in seminars about off-flavors, experience chocolate and beer pairings, smell different varieties of hops, sample cask ale and more.

“A love of beer goes beyond tasting it,” said Win Bassett, Education Coordinator for All About Beer Magazine. “Experiencing beer alongside complementary and contrasting foods and discovering the integral roles of individual ingredients will introduce a new level of appreciation for this wonderful craft.”

Serving for the third consecutive year as the charity beneficiary of World Beer Festival-Raleigh, Artsplosure held the poster contest and will receive a portion of the proceeds from the festival. The money donated by All About Beer Magazine to Artsplosure will help fund the organization’s signature spring arts festival.

“We are delighted to partner with All About Beer Magazine for its World Beer Festival-Raleigh for another year, and we were extremely pleased with all of the entries to the poster contest,” said Michael Lowder, Executive Director of Artsplosure.

All About Beer Magazine’s World Beer Festival-Raleigh is sponsored by Ray Price Harley-Davidson, Etix, Tasty Beverage Co., Triangle Transit, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Independent Weekly, Radio 96.1 and The Flying Saucer Draught Emporium.
