Brewing History features 12 murals that represent a significant period in the history of brewing at will be at display at the Grohmann Museum at the Milwaukee School of Engineering from January 25 through February 28.The murals, painted by Chicago artist Jean Allen, depict the brewing of beer dating back to 4200 B.C. in Babylon and traces it up through Africa, Egypt, medieval Germany to the pilgrims’ ships and modern-day brewing. 2010 marks the 75th anniversary of the paintings which were originally commissioned by the Brewing Industry Historical Committee. Originally unveiled in 1935, they have been part of the fermentation industries exhibit at the Museum of Science & Technology in Chicago as well as on display at the Siebel Institute of Technology. The artwork has since been given to the Museum of Beer & Brewing in Milwaukee.
