Two hundred forty-seven beers and ciders from 53 breweries and cideries representing 15 states and four foreign countries entered the Great International Beer & Cider Competition this year in Providence,RI.

The event was sponsored for the 13^th year by Yankee Brew News. Forty-five professional brewers and beer industry journalists acted as judges in a blind tasting format. First, second and third place awards were presented in 20 categories of ales, lagers and ciders.
