Heavy Seas Releases Yule Tide

Posted October 31, 2011 by Greg Barbera

Heavy Seas has announced the release of their seasonal Belgian Tripel Yule Tide. Slightly sweet with a complex, spicy malt character and pleasing fruitiness. The spice come from a unique Trappist yeast culture – making it aromatic and flavorful. The beer takes extra time to fully mature so this year’s release was actually brewed in November 2010, was given extra fermentation time, bottled and then cellared for six months. Some slight yeast sedimentation can be expected so you may want to decant. As with each Mutiny Fleet beer, Yule Tide 2011 was bottle-conditioned, making this release more intricate, as flavors were allowed to develop slowly and naturally over time. Limited availability in 22oz bottle through mid-November.
