Wynkoop Brewing Announces Release Of Belgorado

Posted September 15, 2011 by Greg Barbera

This Thursday Wynkoop Brewing is releasing two tasty, beer-blessed treats. Sept.15 they’ll tap the first batch of the 2011 edition of Belgorado - a wet-hopped, all-Colorado-ingredients, Belgian-style pale ale. The beer features a hazy gold color and a meringuey head, and vivid grassy and citrus notes from the 60 pounds of hand-picked hops used in each batch. (Chinook hops in this batch, Cascade from Leroux Creek Farms in the second.) It has mountains of hop aroma and flavor and a measured hop bite, for a 3-D hop fix without a punch in the mouth. It finished off at 6.7 % ABV and about 50 IBUs.

It will be available on draft only at Wynkoop Brewing and a few very beery bars in the Denver area.

Are you really going to make me fly all the way from to Denver to try Belgorado?

Tried some Mile HIPA – Can’t stop thinking about it. Who do I have to bribe to get Wynkoop here in Chicago?
