Blue Point Brewing Company out of Long Island, NY, has announced the release of their pure, unpasteurized Black IPA in honor of the distressed birds of the Gulf of Mexico. Proceeds will benefit the Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research. The appropriately named Toxic Sludge features West Coast hops, a roasty malt character and a thick, toffee head. The beer is 7 percent, available in draft and in 22 oz. bottles and quite possibly has one of the best tag lines: “Good to drink – Bad to spill.”
