Beer of the Week

Ayinger Oktober Fest-Märzen

Posted October 18, 2010 by Greg Barbera

One of the many oktoberfest beers you’ll see around this time of year, Ayinger’s Oktober Fest-Märzen is one of the finer examples of the style. The beer pours golden with a small head that quickly dissipates. A malty nose brings a sweet mouthfeel full of caramel notes. The beer is smooth going down – the carbonation fades quickly. There’s a reason these authentic Bavarian festival lagers are so popular and that’s because they are thirst-quenching yet don’t fill you up, leaving room for you to chow down on festival fare. This is a beer that can be enjoyed many times over. And if you haven’t had it, try Celebrator Doppelbock, which is another delicious beer from Ayinger.
