    Full Sail Brewing’s Brewmaster Reserve

    September 5, 2009 - Gregg Glaser Full Sail Brewing’s (WA) rotating selection of Brewmaster Reserve beers changes about every 10 weeks. From August until September there is Vesuvius Belgian Style Golden Ale (8.5%) in 22-oz bottles only. Lupulin Fresh Hop Ale (5.8%) is draft only, brewed with fresh hops straight from the harvest.

    August 17, 2009 - Gregg Glaser Luke Nicholas, owner/brewer of Epic Brewing in Auckland, NZ, put 40 liters of Armageddon India Pale Ale on the Interislander Ferry for six weeks hoping to recreate an “original IPA.”

    Wind and Hailstorms Heavily Damage German Hop Fields

    May 28, 2009 - Gregg Glaser On May 26, a huge wind and hailstorm caused serious damage to German hop fields in the areas of Hallertau and Tettnang, the world’s largest hop-growing region. Early estimates were that 2,500 hectares of 15,000 hectares planted with hops in the Hallertau region were damaged. Czech hops fields were also damaged by the same storm.
