September 5, 2009 - Gregg Glaser Full Sail Brewing’s (WA) rotating selection of Brewmaster Reserve beers changes about every 10 weeks. From August until September there is Vesuvius Belgian Style Golden Ale (8.5%) in 22-oz bottles only. Lupulin Fresh Hop Ale (5.8%) is draft only, brewed with fresh hops straight from the harvest. -

August 17, 2009 - Gregg Glaser Luke Nicholas, owner/brewer of Epic Brewing in Auckland, NZ, put 40 liters of Armageddon India Pale Ale on the Interislander Ferry for six weeks hoping to recreate an “original IPA.” -

Wind and Hailstorms Heavily Damage German Hop Fields
May 28, 2009 - Gregg Glaser On May 26, a huge wind and hailstorm caused serious damage to German hop fields in the areas of Hallertau and Tettnang, the world’s largest hop-growing region. Early estimates were that 2,500 hectares of 15,000 hectares planted with hops in the Hallertau region were damaged. Czech hops fields were also damaged by the same storm. -
