Beer travel is becoming big business as craft beer lovers plan vacations, long weekends and day trips around breweries and beer festivals. Now it’s easier to track those travels, meet fellow beer explorers and discover local beer through the recently launched Society of Beer Travelers, “a community of craft beer lovers who enjoy drinking new beers in new places.”
Membership into the Society of Beer Travelers includes a starter kit with essentials like a BreweryMap app, a beer travel passport, a profile page to track beer travels and more. While the society is founded by a pair of expert travelers—Brian Devine and Maria Scarpello (aka The Roaming Pint), who have been traveling the United States and visiting breweries in an RV named Stanley for the last three years—they emphasize that it’s open to beer travelers of all experience levels.
I’m interested in the Society as my goal this summer is to go to as many of the Washington breweries as possible (last map printing showed 271 microbreweries). I clicked your society link, but it appears to be broken. How does one join and get a passport booklet?
