If you don’t live in the British Isles, you are going to hate reading the wonderful descriptions of beers you won’t be able to buy. However, you will feel the excitement and enthusiasm of this area with so much history and so much more on the horizon.
The organization of the Britain’s Beer Revolution (CAMRA Books, Paperback, £14.99, 288 pp) is infectious. It is sorted into 10 regions, and more than 50 breweries are profiled and well-photographed, with three beers from each brewery reviewed and a host of beer destinations to select from. Distributed throughout are features that explore various elements of the modern beer revolution, such as the revival of traditional malting practices. Of particular interest is the section on regional variations and their origins.
