It’s straw-colored, with rich toasted malt on the aroma, suggesting a true double-decoction mashing regimen. There’s a good balance of peppery hops on the nose. The hops build with tangy bitterness in the mouth along with honeyed and juicy malt. The finish is dry, hoppy and spicy with a delightful honey note and is finally very bitter in the end. An excellent interpretation of the true Pilsner style.

One of three beers imported into the UK by the Wetherspoon pub chain, The Crisp is a bright yellow lager bursting with character from the moment you rip open the can. The aroma is full and enticing, both spicy and floral, with juicy notes of lemon and lime and just a faint suggestion of bubble gum. The taste is bittersweet and satisfying. Floral notes again lead the way, backed by more than a squeeze of lemon. Tangy herbal hop notes push through, drying the palate and leading to a solidly bitter finish. Very enjoyable.
