Handsome label says buy me. You will be glad that you did! Deep brown ale has bright amber overtones, topped with a gorgeous tan head. Curious nose is smoky and herbaceous, unique and contemplative. Luscious honeylike palate is sweet and well-balanced, coating the mouth with a distinct malty character with a clean and very pleasant long-lasting aftertaste. Excellent with alder and applewood smoked ham sandwiches on freshly baked pumpernickel, topped with smoked gouda, heirloom tomatoes, lettuce and grained mustard.
- Charles Finkel
Deep amber ale not to be confused by a chill haze. Aroma is a preface to maximum complexity, popping full and satisfying of fruity banana, mellow smoke and complex oak woodiness. Flavor is a balanced juggle of elements with smooth, sweet malt riding ahead, and mellow smoke and oak wood finishes. Belgian fruitiness makes a stand in the middle. Luscious heat of a full body and alcohol experience. Get down and get it on. This beer intrigues and delights. Additional age will certainly take this in interesting directions.
