Primátor Premium Lager

The town of Náchod has been the site of brewing for many centuries, with the town brewery dating from 1872. The malt used in Primátor Premium Lager comes from South Moravia, the hops from the Zatec region, and the water from the natural preserve of Adrspach Protected Landscape Area Broumovsko.

As a young importer almost twenty-three years ago, I inquired about Czech beers, but only one brand was sanctioned by the government for export. That brewery is now in the hands of a South African concern. Primator illustrates that many other good beers remain. With a 24-carat robe and ermine crown, here is a prince among pils. Saaz hops impart a regal, sweet, floral nose. Hops and malt meld and balance beautifully. Superb with cream of vegetable soup.

A Czech-brewed pilsner of a perfect nature, having survived the imported journey to my lips. Fantastic and classic pilsner aroma of malt and hops. Exquisite balance of hop flavor. Slides lugubriously over the olfactories; pleasant body and refreshing as it goes down. This is a beer I’d seek out whenever I could be assured that it is in this kind of condition.
- Charlie Papazian
An enticing pale gold color leads to a rich corn flour aroma balanced by aromatic hops and a hint of toasted grain from double decoction mashing. Sweet, juicy malt and tart, spicy hops dominate the palate, followed by a big finish bursting with lemon fruit and becoming uncompromisingly bitter, dry and hoppy. A splendid example of a Czech cold-fermented beer.
