Persimmon Ale
January 29, 2015Bloomington Brewing Co.

Type of Beer: Fruit Beer
ABV: 6.2%
A lovely harvest shade of burnt orange. A healthy burst of orange peel pops off this ale along with a hint of fresh nutmeg and ground cinnamon. There’s spice in the flavor, but it’s there as a complement—not a dominant force—to citrusy hops and, of course, the persimmon. The fruit itself is often very pulpy and sweet, so this ale actually comes off more like a lightly carbonated fruit juice. It finishes somewhat dry, but ultimately very refreshing.
