Perrin Big Griz

September 16, 2016

Perrin Brewing Co.

Big Griz
Comstock Park, Michigan
Style: Bourbon-Barrel-Aged Imperial Brown Ale ABV: 12.5%

Sweet but not one-note. This cola-colored beer has flavors and aromas of cocoa, roasted nuts, caramel, toffee and light vanilla wooden notes. The barrel plays second fiddle here, allowing the ale flavors to truly shine. Viscous, it’s like drinking a sweet black iced coffee. Consider this liquid dessert, but not too boozy or cloyingly sweet. Smooth and deep, it’s an excellent after-dinner beer or one to hold on to for a special holiday party.
