Capt’n Krunkles Black IPA

April 7, 2010 It has a lingering head and a extremely bitter mouthfeel. And why not, there's over two pounds of hops per barrel in this unique brew. Is it a new trend? What it is... is Capt'n Krunkles Black India Pale Ale! -->

Part of Terrapin Beer Co.’s Side Project, Capt’n Krunkles Black India Pale Ale has a very strong hop aroma coming off the top. It has a lingering head and a extremely bitter mouthfeel. And why not, there’s over two pounds of hops per barrel in this unique brew. Dried fruit notes come through (prune?) and are followed by roasted malt (coffee) and burnt toast. This black IPA is a strange breed indeed. Is it a super hoppy stout? A dark roasted IPA? Is it a new trend? What it is… is Capt’n Krunkles Black India Pale Ale!
