Golden beer with a superb aroma of pithy orange peel, honey, biscuity malt and light hop resins. Orange fruit and creamy honey dominate the palate, but there’s a good balance of juicy malt and gentle hops. The finish is bittersweet to start but becomes dry with continuing tart fruit, honey and gentle hops. A good dessert beer — the prefect companion for an orange sorbet.
- Roger Protz
It looks rather like weissbier — a pale orangey gold beer with high carbonation and a fluffy white head. The aroma shows candyish orange-oil notes and a whiff of beeswax. The palate is brisk and dry with a zing of acidity, blending light malt with a flavor reminiscent of orange lollipops. The finish is clean and dry, signing off with a twang of citrus. It’s well made; the question is, how much do you like orange lollipops? The overall character steers dangerously close to Fanta Orange, but if that’s the mood you’re in, go for it. It would be a fine match for a Thai duck curry.
- Garrett Oliver
