Turbid brownish amber with a tan head of minuscule bubbles. Nice nose is pleasantly medicinal, full of exotic spices, and a little vinous. “It’s sour,” my friend said. “Supposed to be,” I told him. Inspired by a recent trip to Belgium, we enjoyed wagyu carbonnade cooked and served it with Ojos Negros, the beer equivalent of boeuf bourguignon, but better. “Good marriage,” he said, finally coming to the realization that there is more to beer than IPA. Excellent with rich, heavily sauced dishes.

Beautiful misty light-brown brew with an aroma of funk that will get you up and dancing. Super complex aroma with barrel-aged notes, berry fruit and elements of wildness that spell fun and hint at acidity. No disappointment if you know it’s coming. An assertive sour-aged brew that finishes clean on the palate. If you’re into sours, get out and seek this brew. It’s a storyteller that grows on you with each sip. Hard to translate into words but: Get some!
