Turbid deep amber contrasts with a quickly dissipating head the hue of eggshells. Nose is clean, fresh and fruity with a yeasty finish, which became more intense as the beer warmed. The flavor is fruity with a citrus-like acidity balancing layers of fresh, wholesome-tasting barley and wheat. Good beer for a light lunch like linguini con vognole (clams,) served with white fennel salad finishing with dried organic black figs and nuts.

Chestnut color. Distinctive, assertive, fruity, peachy aroma. Or even a fruit salad, with apricots, honeydew melon and fresh garden mint. Shortbread in the middle, tea-like in the finish: very Southern flavors. To be enjoyed over ice (did I say that?) in a Collins glass, with a splash of Sazerac rye whiskey, while lazing on the porch thinking lustful thoughts about the languorous young lady on the swing.

Finally, with its expansion complete, Boulevard offers a new beer, one to whet our appetites for the upcoming Smokestack Series. Reddish brown and quite cloudy, banana dominates the aroma, followed by light spiciness. Fruit, mostly banana flavors, meld with some nuttiness and toast character (banana bread?) on the palate. Light (4.5% ABV) and crisp enough to drink more than one by the grill, but complex enough to accompany the steak that follows.
