Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS)
April 19, 2010 The Kentucky Breakfast Stout is oak-aged in bourbon barrels for an entire year. The beer pours black like espresso with a very little tan head (if any). Strong roasted notes come off the top. The mouthfeel is viscous and made up of bitter toffee, hints of vanilla bean with a sturdy bourbon backbone. The KBS is one of my favorite beers. I have yet to have an imperial stout that is so full of flavor and so delicately balanced. This truly is liquid, black gold. -->Founders Brewing Company releases this spring seasonal each year around the Ides of March.
