A 7.3 percent beer with an entrancing pale gold color and dense, fluffy head of foam. There’s a massive aroma of peaches and mangoes, with creamy oatmeal maltiness and tangy hop resins. Bitter hops and rich fruit dominate the palate with a strong backbone of clean, juicy malt. The finish has some pleasing malty sweetness but it’s balanced by tart and tangy hop resins and a continuing rich yet mellow fruitiness.

Well, alrighty then—I can smell this beer as soon as it hits the glass. The beer is hazy deep gold and the tan foam is abundant, but it drops back. A distinctive hop aroma leaps from the glass—lemons, oranges, mint, a touch of sagebrush. On the palate, it’s broadly bitter without getting silly about it, and the dry center gains its gravity from fruity aromatics rather than actual sweetness. All told, this is a very robust but drinkable IPA with plenty of personality. I suddenly want a huge plate of very spicy nachos.
