Though it can be a bit cloying, this is an IPA for the citrus lovers, particularly those who can’t get enough lemon and lime. With a brilliant copper hue and thick white head, each sniff as you come up for a drink imparts snappy lemon that doesn’t pucker but pleases. There is malt character as well, so this isn’t an all-hop bomb. A firm dry finish—which helps hide its strong ABV—reinforces the citrus and makes me pine for a spicy Thai dish.

his bright gold IPA has a lovely aroma, mixing the expected citrusy notes—lemon, mostly, but with hints of lime zest—with a floral, fruit punch perfume that mellows the nose quite nicely. In the body, there is a similar laid-back approach in evidence, with gentle hoppiness, ample degrees of mixed fruit —lemon, peach, maybe subtle pineapple and melon—and no in-your-face bitterness. The finish is perhaps the sharpest part of this beer, but even that’s not too sharp, just pleasantly bitter, dry and, again, lemony.
