Are you ready for a tropical vacation? Sure you are, and we’ve got just what you want and need right here in this heady Austin, TX, offering. Juicy tropical fruits like mango, papaya and pineapple; a puff of kind weed; citrusy grapefruit peel and ruby-red juice and even a touch of resinous pine leap out of the glass. A fine thread of caramel aptly carries the complex fruitiness and allows it to mingle with the pine and grassy notes. Pour a glass, take a sip and let this beer take you places you’ve always wanted to go.
- Lisa Morrison
The bottle is naked, save for a white sticker listing the beer’s stats. The foam quickly drops to a loose lace curtain, and the beer has a muddy honey color. The aroma is pure West Coast, displaying sinsemilla, Seville oranges, scallions and lawn clippings. The hops stage a broad frontal assault, supported by some sweetness in the center. After a short detour through fruit, it pulls up dryish into the finish. Pair with a pineapple-glazed pork chop.
