Fade to Black was inspired by Pillage & Burn, the 2009 collaboration between Left Hand and Nørrebro Bryghus, that was brewed and sold in Denmark exclusively. The malt is smoked over wood from a 100-year old hackberry tree from the head brewer’s family homestead in Nebraska.

That Old Black Magic! Here is a sensual beer, sexy and luscious. Deepest, darkest chocolate color at the edges. Fluffy tan head of tiny bubbles. Comforting and creamy, a balance of roasted cereal spiced just right! We lusted over it with fresh Alaska king crab broiled in butter.

Cocoa roast with a cool flick of smoke. Dense head and obscuring blackness defines visual deliciousness. Sweet philosophical body swishes and flavor swirls of roast blackness, equilibrating with caramel malts and a sentimental bite of hops. Curiously finishes with a deranged diminutive hop bitterness, cleansed with astringent touch of black malt. Intriguing and very addictive. Worth seeking for contemplative drinking. Fantasmic.
