A nice Irish-style dry stout, with notes of dark roast coffee, cocoa powder, black licorice and black currant. Burnt, dark chocolate finish. Fairly light in body, but certainly not in character.
- John Hansell
The perfect pour. A head of delicate, frothy espresso bubbles, punctuated with larger air pockets—a moonscape atop a dark brown universe. Earthy, malty nose is subtle and fresh smelling. Hops first appear in the mouth, a nice contrast to an excellent balance of earthy, malty flavors with little of the coffee or chocolate tones usually associated with stout. Exceptional with an organic omelet of market fresh snow peas, artisan salami, local tomme and heirloom tomatoes sautéed in butter and finished with a splash of stout.
