Daily Wages Sales Sheet FinalDaily Wages

Brasserie Saint James

Reno, NV

Daily Wages won a gold medal at the 2014 Great American Beer Festival in the French- and Belgian-Style Saison category.

ABV: 6.04

ABW: 4.73

COLOR: 3.69

BITTERNESS: 22.5

ORIGINAL GRAVITY: 1059

AVAILABLE: CA, NV, CANADA

Pouring as bright golden and hazy as a lazy winter sunbeam, and sporting a frothy white bonnet, Daily Wages brings to the nose a bold burst of herbaceous, peppery and citrus notes along with just a touch of cheesy funk. Slightly spicy phenols, pepper, green hay and fruit flavors in the way of apricots and grapefruit linger over a body that is creamier than anticipated, while providing a healthy dose of effervescence. Dry hopping comes through mostly at the end, with an earthy-spicy and refreshingly dry finish that encourages another sip.
- Lisa Morrison
It may be a trick of the light, but I could swear that this electric-yellow beer is sporting a greenish tinge. The white foam is thin, even when the bottle is poured vigorously. The aroma is peppery and herbal in a pleasingly medicinal way, almost like some sort of Italian bitters. The palate is dry and the bitterness is moderate, opening onto a ciderlike fruitiness in the center. It signs off with a mildly astringent tingle. This is a very nice beer that would benefit from a little more sparkle and vivacity. That said, a good crab cake wouldn’t kick it off the plate.
