Boardwalk Black Rye

December 30, 2011 This beer from San Diego's Karl Strauss Brewing Company is part of the company's Karl's Coastal Reserve special release series and comes in 22 oz bottles. Dark roasted malt notes. A bitter coffee mouthfeel with a grapefruit pith and burnt pizza crust-accentuated finish. Plenty of raw cocoa and lots of West Coast hops in the nose. A Karl Strauss beer will never let you down. -->

Boardwalk Black Rye pours black with a thick mauve head. Very nice lacing. Best beer bottled by Karl Strauss to date! Excellent full flavor with all the note mentioned. I’m a “repeat offender” for this stuff, even considering all that is out there.
