Pure golden color with a frothy head. Wet nut, pizza dough, faint lemon and clay aromas follow through to a dryish medium body with a crisp round, lemon rind and earthy hop fade. Superb balance and drinkability that effortlessly glides across the palate.

Deep, old gold color with an amber cast. Roasted nuts and faint floral honey aromas. A brisk entry lead to a fruity medium body of honeyed golden raisins and orange marmalade flavors. Finishes with a long, crisp, caramel, sweet grapefruit and spicy hops fade. Very refreshing.

Old gold color. Cream, earthy, piney hops and very faint soap aromas. A round, vibrant entry leads to a frothy, tart medium-full body of lemon curd and custard, toasted nut bread flavors. Finishes with a tangy, sweet citrus and roasted grain fade. Nice vibrancy of flavor.

Sunny old gold color with a hazy pale amber cast. Floral and earthy honey and raisin bread dough aromas follow through to a frothy and lightly fruity medium body of raisin bread toast, citrus peels and a touch of custard. Finishes with a nice blend of sweet orange, cream and earthy hops. Very drinkable.

A bit out-of balance or condition on the finish, but a fine beer underneath.

Cloudy golden orange color. Wet cereal, apricot yogurt and whey aromas follow through on a soft, silky entry to a dryish, lightly creamy medium body with nutskin, silt and peppery spice accents. Finishes with a mild earthy hop, honeyed lemon and toasted grain fade. An interesting, unfiltered mellow lager style.

Pure golden color with an amber cast. Doughy malt and marmalade aromas follow through to a frothy medium body of lemon and orange marmalade, grainy bread dough and delicate spices. Finishes with a tangy sweet citrus and honeyed toast fade. Very nice.

A round entry leads to a subtly carbonated, dry-yet-fruity medium-full body of peach tart, lime zest, strawberry jam and toasted raisin nut bread flavors. Finishes with a softly textured, tangy, fruity peach and citrus hop fade. Very fruity, but could use more carbonation and zest.

Finishes on a toasty bread note with hay and roasted citrus peel in support. A zippy, refreshing pilsner.

Pale golden straw color. Sweet honey, light caramel and buttered corn bread aromas. A brisk frothy entry leads to a dryish light body of sweet citrus, lightly toasted corn bread and powdered honey flavors. Finishes with a pleasant citrus and bread dough fade. A nice quaffer.
86 LITH Pils, Govnor’s Public House (IL). 4.9% ABV (11/07)
Pale amber color. Honeyed raisin bread aromas. A round frothy entry leads to a zesty dryish medium-to-full body of grapefruit rind and rye toast flavors. Finishes with a long, long citrusy, lightly piney hop and nut fade. Not really a traditional pilsner style given the aggressive U.S. hops, but very refreshing and a good match for spicy Asian food.

Golden amber color with a slight haze. Funky herbal soap, sour citrus, cocoa and charred wood aromas. A crisp frothy entry lead to a dryish medium body of dark honeyed toast, sour lemon and orange marmalade with a citrus sweet hops fade. Curious.
