July:
17-18 – Burning Can: Oskar Blues REEB Ranch: Oskar Blues BURNING CAN will celebrate CANned craft beer in all its glory for the second year in a row in North Carolina.
Funk/Rock/Jazz/Hip-hop sensations Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will headline a weekend chock full of live music best enjoyed with a cold craft beer in hand. This year’s festivities will take place at the REEB Ranch, just 8 miles from Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard, NC, and 30 miles down the road from beer-centric Asheville, NC.
BURNING CAN condenses what’s best about the craft can lifestyle into a multi-day outdoor festival with national touring bands, 50+ of the best canning breweries from around the country, camping, a Beer Relay competitive trail run, paddle trips, group rides, and a premier dirt-jumping competition. Tickets are now on sale!
A free concert at the REEB Ranch on Friday evening, July 17, will be kicked off by progressive Southern rockers Porch 40 and headlined by local funk faves, Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band. Starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, the Ranch will be shaken to its roots by Travers Brothership, Jarekus Singleton, the Grammy award-winning Rebirth Brass Band and the internationally-touring act Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. Building on four years of funky Southern acts at the original BURNING CAN in Colorado, Oskar Blues is psyched to welcome award-winning New Orleans native Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue to this corner of NC.
Tickets are required for all Saturday festivities.
More than 50 regionally and nationally distributed craft breweries that CAN their beer will pour up to 125 varieties of the good stuff for thirsty festival attendees from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday. Oskar Blues beer will be for sale all weekend.
For the first time, festival attendees can camp on the grounds of the historic 145-acre Oskar Blues REEB Ranch for the entire weekend and enjoy the festivities safely with no interruptions. Camping tickets cover both Friday and Saturday nights and include access to the beer festival, the dirt jump competition and the world class concert on Saturday for $60.
The REEB Ranch was thrust onto the national scene with 3,000+ spectators at the ultimate BMX dirt jump competition, Red Bull Dreamline, in late 2014, and the property features a bike park unparalleled on the East Coast. BURNING CAN will pick up where Dreamline left off by hosting the Outlaws of Dirt BMX and MTB dirt jumping competition all day on Saturday. The ONLY national dirt jump series in the U.S., the competition will crown its champion on the red clay at the REEB Ranch during BURNING CAN North Carolina.
