Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA

By Daniel Bradford Published January 2010, Volume 30, Number 6

Lately I’ve taken to cooking again, and usually, it’s something Pacific Rim or Indian. Last night I set my mind on Indian rice, a curry with asparagus and chicken in a teriyaki marinade – everything with a little bite to it. Therefore, I grabbed a four-pack of Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA. When I cook there’s a lot of fussing and having a goblet of something good is a requirement. Quite a big beer, at room temperature the 90 Minute lays full in the mouth without gumming up the works. The rich malt front end, with all its toasted, biscuity notes harmoniously offset the piney, spicy finish. It complemented the dishes because each had a strong base with bright spicing.
