The second beer in the 2010 Samuel Adams LongShot series the staff at All About Beer Magazine sampled around the conference table was Mile High Barley Wine. Brewed by Ben Miller, this beer celebrates his 100th batch of homebrew. It poured a deep copper with almost no head retention. It had a surprisingly dry finish for a sweet beer. Pretty bitter and hoppy for a barleywine. A ten percent beer that tastes this light is dangerous. This beer is deceptive considering its barleywine status.
