RV Travelers Driven to Craft Beer

Naturally, there are some things about the nomadic lifestyle that prove difficult—distance from old friends, spotty Internet, the stress of repacking for travel days, worries about breaking down—but those who embrace the lifestyle find it a worthwhile tradeoff.

And being a wired-in technomad allows not only an opportunity to keep in contact with friends old and new via the Internet, but also permits the sharing of stories.

Though there are posts about brewery visits on those pages, Scarpello and Devine’s site at theroamingpint.com overflows with stories, pictures, reviews, tips and tricks for living the life of a full-time craft beer traveler. They occasionally feature interviews with other craft beer travelers—often those they have met on the road—in the “Meet the Beer Traveler” section and have a witty and creative FAQ page. Freedom is the key word for the full-time RVer, but factoring in craft beer adds another: people.

All of the full-timers interviewed for this story mention how much they enjoy socializing with other beer travelers and the people and personalities of craft beer and how those tasting-room conversations sometimes develop into long-term friendships.
