At Great Divide Brewing Company, October signals the release of three of the brewery’s most anticipated and storied seasonal beers: Hibernation Ale, Fresh Hop Pale Ale and Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout. All three of these highly respected beers will be available through December.

Hibernation Ale is Colorado’s original strong ale and Great Divide’s celebrated winter tradition since 1995. This robust, dry-hopped ale has a malty richness balanced with a complex hop profile and hearty, warming character. At 8.7% ABV, Hibernation is available in 6-packs and draft. Hibernation is a three-time Great American Beer Festival medalist and boasts a Ratebeer.com score of 98.

Fresh Hop Pale Ale is a labor of love meant to be enjoyed today. Brewed every fall since 2003 with wet, whole cone hops from the Pacific Northwest, Fresh Hop is the epitome of seasonal brewing. Great Divide tells drinkers, “Don’t age it. Keep it cold. Drink it now. Savoring this delightful pale ale during harvest season ensures that its unparalleled grassy, citrus hop brilliance will remain uncompromised.” At 6.1% ABV with 55 IBUs, Fresh Hop is available in 22oz. bombers and draft. The beer has garnered a score of 98 on Ratebeer.com.

Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout is Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling. They may be from the same clan, but they have entirely different personalities. Oak aging gives a subtle vanilla character, rounding out Yeti’s intense roastiness and huge hoppy nature. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti? At 9.5% ABV, it is available in 22oz. bottles, growlers fills out of the Great Divide Tap Room and 5-gallon kegs. It boasts a perfect Ratebeer.com score of 100 and was named one of BeerAdvocate’s 2010 “Top 100 Beers On Planet Earth.”

Additionally, all three beers are available at the Great Divide Tap Room for onsite enjoyment and growler fills to-go.

Great Divide Reveals New Yeti https://allaboutbeer.net/daily-pint/whats-brewing/2013/06/great-divide-reveals-new-yeti/ https://allaboutbeer.net/daily-pint/whats-brewing/2013/06/great-divide-reveals-new-yeti/#comments Thu, 27 Jun 2013 18:54:57 +0000 Staff https://allaboutbeer.net/?p=30062 (Press Release)

DENVER—Great Divide Brewing Co. announces the release of its highly-anticipated 2013 third quarter seasonals. This release includes the debut of a new member of Great Divide’s admired Yeti family, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout, as well as the return of Rumble IPA and Wolfgang Doppelbock.

With the unveiling of Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout, Great Divide’s storied Yeti family gains an admirable new member. Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold and dark. The addition of rolled oats softens Yeti’s notoriously roasty backbone, while a small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle creates a unique, complementary dark fruit character. Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal yeti Imperial Stout is a gentle beast. At 9.5% ABV, it will be available in 22oz bottles and 5-gallon kegs.

July also marks the return Great Divide’s inspired third quarter 6-pack seasonal, Rumble Oak Aged IPA. Brewed with heavy-handed additions of Pacific Northwest hops, Rumble is gently aged on French and American oak chips, resulting in a wonderful balance of bitterness, caramel sweetness, and vanilla, with undertones of pine and citrus. At 7.2% ABV, Rumble is available in 6-packs and 5 and 15-gallon kegs through September.

Also returning for another summer on the shelves is Great Divide’s Wolfgang Doppelbock. Wolfgang’s heavenly notes of caramel, dark fruit and toffee are balanced by a subtle hop character. While the style’s revered history evokes an appreciation of austerity and sacrifice, this Doppelbock is a rich luxury – no repentance required. At 8% ABV, Wolfgang is available in 22oz bottles and 5-gallon kegs.

Additionally, all three of these seasonal beers will be available for purchase in their natural habitat – the Great Divide Brewing Company Tap Room – for on-site tasting and 64-ounce growlers to go. Also this summer, through September, the Tap Room has extended hours, opening at noon every day.

Great Divide Brewing Co. Smoked Baltic Porter https://allaboutbeer.net/daily-pint/beer-of-the-week/2011/06/great-divide-brewing-co-smoked-baltic-porter/ https://allaboutbeer.net/daily-pint/beer-of-the-week/2011/06/great-divide-brewing-co-smoked-baltic-porter/#comments Wed, 29 Jun 2011 18:20:03 +0000 Greg Barbera https://allaboutbeer.net/?p=21462 This Smoked Baltic Porter from Great Divide Brewing Co. pours coffee black with a thin head that quickly dissipates. Roasted malt notes with hints of rusted penny, bitter coffee and chocolate. A silky entry with medium body and a dry finish. The Bamberg smoked malt addition is understated which suits me well. I would have been even better suited to enjoy this beer had I some smoked gouda cheese to pair with it. Lesson learned.
